This week I stretched myself by becoming more involved in groups. Poetry and music are my least favorite means of expressing myself but I found myself participating and enjoying both activites. I enjoyed meeting all of you. Thanks for a great week. Marcia

I stretched myself by working on the group project and getting closer with the other teachers from my school. My weakest intelligences were interpersonal and linguistic. I had to participate in group activities and I added pule to my vocabulary! I had a great time and can't wait to share with my students. Thank you!

This week I stretched my mind by strengthing my weak areas of bodily/kinesthetic and naturalistic. These were increased because of the field trip and the dances. This week was a lot of fun and I know there are ideas I can incorporate into my classroom.

My two lowest intelligences are naturalistic and linguistic. I really stretched myself this week with my linguistic intelligence. In writing poetry or other things, my linguistic intelligence was strengthened throughout the week. I enjoyed being here and meeting you all!

This week I stretched myself by thinking quickly on my feet even in the face of anxiety! My weakest intelligence is music - so performing African song, music and dance definitely worked on improving that intelligence. You made me step outside of my comfort zone - and I feel better because I took those risks! Thanks for a super week! :) I will pass along the AI info so it may spread like wildfire! :) Meghan

My two lowest MI were visual and verbel. The way I was able to streach both is when i was told to write a poem about the arts. I found out I was more creative then I thought I was. This was the best workshop I have taken in a long time. I can't wait to try the many new things that I have learned from this workshop.

I stretched myself by being active in games and activities that require me to be Bodily/Kinesthetic. I worked in groups and created group relationships by being more open and group oriented, instead of working by myself.
THANKS FOR A GREAT WEEK> !

This week I have truely learned to stretch my thinking by keeping the arts in my mind when I plan my units and instruction for next year in my Special Education Resource class. My two lowest intelligences are Linguistic and Naturalistic. Next year I will stretch myself to Gumby-dom and not be Pokey about implementing activities in my room related to the two lowest MIs of mine. Cannot wait for 07-08 now!

Wow! Where do I begin. The MUSE Machine class enabled me to expereience what I'm expecting my students to do, to become risk takers and step outside of the box. My interpersonal, kinesthetic, and naturalist intelligences were stretched during this course. Collaborating and planning group activities enhanced my interpersonal and kinesthetic intelligences tremendously. As far as my naturalist intelligence, strolling the campus between class and meals, allowed me to observe and appreciate nature. This course has given me a thirst to use arts integration to enrich my curriculum. Thanks for an exciting week! I

This week I was definitely stretched! My weak areas were verbal and musical AND getting used to dorm life again! I have many ideas to try out with students in a few weeks. I especially enjoyed the friendships we made. Thanks everyone for being so much fun to be around!

This week certainly stretched me! Writing poetry and using at to design the pages for my journal stretched me beyond my comfort zone but i know that going beyond my comfort zone into my lowest intelle gences will make me abetter teacher. working on my project and doing a power point will certainly be helpful to stretch both visually and mathmatically. thanks for a great week filled with things to take back to my classroom but most of all for making me learn to take risk.

Oops! I was really tired when I got home. I sure did make a lot of errors in my Blog. I would like to add how much fun I had even when I had to stretch. Not only did I learn to go beyond my comfort zone, I made many new friends to use for support when I get started in the Fall. It Was truly a great week. Thank you Mary Lou, Claudia, Don and TuTu and everyone that helped for all you did to make the week a success.

hello again. I am not sure my first blog "took". Thank you all for the wonderful ideas, new friendships and for making me grow!
The first day stretched me to the limit, but I sprang back. It was good for me to be forced out of my comfort zone. My children still can't believed I danced in front of an audience. Claudia, you are amazing - so many wonderful strategies. Can't wait to share them with others.

My stretch during MUSE was to be "totally present" during the sessions. As a media specialist I am frequently interupted to help others. During MUSE I was able to concentrate on all three sessions each day and knit the "languages" of each together. Since MUSE I have been reading Claudia's book, particularly about literature and want to share it with our school literacy coach and principals. The book aligns wonderfully with the SC Reading Initiative and our professional development plan at Ballentine Elementary. MUSE also enabled me to work collaboratively with the team from my school and glean ideas from the other educators attending MUSE to build a vision for infusing the arts with the curriculum. Thanks!
